Let's talk about... Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland is one of the two parks at the Tokyo Disney Resort. It as built before the Paris and Hong Kong parks so it was the first one to be built outside the US, in 1983. It has basically a similar style as other castle Disney parks, such as California Disneyland or Magic Kingdom in Florida but it's not owned by The Walt Disney Company but by The Oriental Land Company.

The park consist of seven theme areas: World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Critter Country and Mickey's Toontown.

World Bazaar

After we enter the park we will come upon the first themed area: World Bazaar. It's what it's known as "Main Street U.S.A." in the other castle parks. The main difference is the canopy that covers almost all the area. It's pretty rainy from time to time in Japan, especially during the rainy season,
This is the main shopping area of the park and, with the ceiling, it resembles a Japanese style shopping arcade.
There are all kinds of shops with a huge selection. You can find headwear, clothes, stationery, houseware and original merchandise like pressed coins which design changes with each event.

Also, if you like meeting Disney characters and taking pictures with them, this area and the main entrance will be visited by many of  them throughout the day. Since the area is covered, it's a good place to be on rainy days!

There are two areas in this land. The first one is closer to the main entrance and World Bazaar and it's inspired in New Orleans. The main attraction that you'll find in this area is Pirates of the Caribean.
The second area is a "jungle" area and, of course, one of the main attractions is Jungle Criuse. Other attractions you'll find here are The Enchanted Tiki Room (which is focused on Stitch) and Western River Railroad.

Westernland

Westernland is the "old west" themed area. In other castle parks it's known as Frontierland. It's home to Big Thunder Mountain and the Mark Twain Riverboat.

Critter Country

Critter Country is the smallest area in the park and it's main attraction is Splash Mountain. There you can also find the Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes and the restaurant Grandma Sara's Kitchen, one of the best ones in the park.

Fantasyland

The main entrance of this area is, like other castle parks, a castle, which in this case it's Cinderella Castle and looks very similar to the one in Florida. Most of the rides here are "dark rides", such as It's a Small World, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan or Haunted House. You can also enjoy one of the most popular rides of Tokyo Disneyland, Pooh's Hunny Hunt, a "trackless" dark ride that is unique to Tokyo Disneyland.

Toontown

Called Mickey's Toontown in other Disney parks, this area's main attraction is Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. Among the other many small attractions it's the very popular Mickey's House and Meet Mickey, probably the one with the longest lines in the park.

Tomorrowland

The last land is Tomorrowland which main attraction is Space Mountain, a high speed, thrill and dark roller coaster. Other rides include Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, Star Tours: The Adventure Continue and Monsters Inc. Ride Go and Seek.

Next time I'll make an overview of Tokyo DisneySea! See you next time!
